Kenyatta's stance on nature
I thought this would be a nice addition to the blog. It's from the Kansas City Zoo's Africa exhibit.
Politics influence nature and nature influences politics.
Thanks, Lauren. So unfortunate that politics seems to be the bane of development in Africa which includes taking care of our natural landscape. Can't begin to talk about how much those forests and parks have been destroyed by bad policies. Isn’t that surprising, considering that these same preservations represent a major foreign exchange earner? Way to remind us about such an important issue, go Lauren.
I think it defeats the purpose to develop and grow economically at the unreasonable expense of nature. That is the whole essence of sustainable development as a policy; to grow economically; but also to nurture the earth's resources especially the non-renewable ones for future generations. Thanks for posting this Lauren.

ReplyDeleteThat is an accurate assessment by Kenyatta.
